Cox Communications to show “The Alzheimer’s Project” Free On DemandAs you may know, HBO’s 4-part documentary series titled, “The Alzheimer’s Project,” is set to air May 10-12.All films will stream free of charge on hbo.com and will be offered for free on multiple platforms by participating television service providers, including Cox Communications.In conjunction with HBO, Cox Communications will allow all digital cable customers — not only those that subscribe to HBO — to have free access to “The Alzheimer’s Project.” Beginning May 11, digital cable customers can access all four documentaries in the series via Cox’s On DEMAND library, located on channel 1. Customers will have access to the programs through June 8. To access the programs, digital customers simply tune to channel 1 for the On DEMAND menu. The programs can be found in the Top Picks section of FreeZone. More information about the services of Cox Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cox Enterprises, is available at www.cox.com, www.coxbusiness.com and www.coxmedia.com.“The Alzheimer’s Project” is a multi-platform HBO event featuring a four-part documentary series, 17 short supplemental films, a companion book, a web site and a nationwide community-based grassroots outreach campaign.  HBO will use all of its platforms, including the HBO main service, multiplex channels, HBO On Demand, HBO Podcasts, hbo.com, HBO Channel on YouTube and DVD sales to support the project.The four documentaries are:  “The Memory Loss Tapes”, an up-close look at seven individuals living with the Alzheimer’s, “Momentum in Science, Parts 1and 2”, a state-of-the-art science report, “Grandpa, Do You Know Who I Am?” captures what it means to be a child or grandchild of a person with Alzheimer’s and “Caregivers” which highlights the sacrifices and successes of people who experience their loved ones’ gradual descent into dementia.  In addition, all films will stream free of charge on hbo.com and will be offered for free on multiple platforms by participating television service providers.“The Alzheimer’s Project” is a presentation of HBO Documentary Films and the National Institute on Aging at the National Institutes of Health in association with the Alzheimer’s Association®, Fidelity® Charitable Gift Fund and Geoffrey Beene Gives Back® Alzheimer’s Initiative.  The series producer is John Hoffman; the executive producers are Sheila Nevins and Maria Shriver.
